One of my main concerns when I am helping people achieve their life goals is – How they measure success. I see individuals getting frustrated as they strive for that mystical term ‘SUCCESS’.
One of the main reason that causes this frustration is that people allow their definitiion of success to be determined by someone or something else.
They look to individuals perhaps in their own work environment or even in the news who are ‘Successful’ then look at their own life and determine because they are not the same as this person then they, the individual cannot be successful.
We should look at our own skills to determine what is successful to us. We should look inward to determine what it would mean for us to be successful in our own mind rather than someone else’s.
The key to ‘Success’ is all in our heads we should and must develop our own thinking about what it will mean to be ‘Successful’.
Too many times I see people try to be like the ‘Gurus’ who are earning perhaps millions and feel insignificant next to them.
They become frustrated at their own apparent lack of success when comparing themselves to these people.
We are all individuals with individual wants, skills and experiences. For one person success is earning $100,000 per year another would feel unsuccessful with earning $250,000, another ignores earnings and looks to tangible assets to meaure their success. Then there are those who measure their success not in monetary terms but in how they have helped steer children to a better life perhaps away from falling into street crime and drug abuse. Teachers of children do not measure their success in monetary terms but in the satisfaction from seeing children under their guidance achieve something in their own lives.
The temptation would be for teachers of children and others in similar vocational type work to think they are not successful because they are not earning masses of money in carrying out their work. The person who earns $100,000 may look at themselves and compare their earnings with the one who is earning $250,000 and feel lack of success. And indeed that person earning $250,000 who is to say they are not looking at the person who is guiding children and wish that they could have some of their success and satisfaction?
You must set out your own course to success by all means look to others as guides, even emulate what they are doing, just remember you cannnot copy them. Each of us have our own experiences of life and when faced with a decision we use those experiences to form our course of action. Emulating a successful person is looking at their pathway to success, their actions, their determination and translating that into our own experience to see how we can improve ourselves. Note the word ‘ourselves’.
You must set your own course of action, and stay on your course. You and you alone must determine what ‘SUCCESS’ means to you, fashion your goals on your interpretation not someone else’s. Do what you do to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself. For example I believe that I am Successful but I am not a millionaire! well not in money terms anyway but I have colleagues who are. They may not see me as successful in their eyes but that does not matter it is how I see myself that is important to me and my life.
Here is the truth. Being a success is doing your best, not being the best. Success is not something you become – It is something you continue being.
When we get to that point, we will experience a lot more joy and a lot less frustration. And that sounds good to me!
Remember the great quote from Napoleon Hill “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”

I was on a sales call and it went well until the prospect said “I want you to make me successful.”
My comment to him was short and to the point. I asked “can you define success for me so I know if I can help?”
He answered “No.”
We agreed to do business together and I would help him define what success would look like for him.
In this case it was fairly easy. He was a business owner who had to sell, make payroll, and keep his business alive. We create some short term Success goals around his business and added to those for his emotional, spiritual, social, physical and family needs. Those last ones were a little tougher.
Do others know how you define success? If you can not, how can others help you succeed? Is it in the amount of money you make?
Is it in the number of customers? Is it defined in financial terms such as gross margin? Is it defined in time off? Is it related to family, spiritual, social or emotional desires?
I sat down with my mastermind group and asked them this question: What is success and how do you create it?
We decided the definition of Success cannot be effectively measured and defined. It is different for each person. The clerk at the grocery store is no less successful than a business owner who runs a $20M business. The clerk at the grocery store may be focused on volunteer work, family and other things that are more meaningful to them.
We determined that there are six attitudes that must be present to achieve any kind of goals.
They are listed below in no particular order.
Clarity of Purpose
Clarity of purpose can be defined as knowing what you want. Many times a defining moment drives clarity of purpose. Many members of the group talked about how they lost a job, a company or experienced other major life changing events that were the predecessor to getting clear on what is important.
In our discussion of a defining moment, we determined that it can change our entire perspective if we let it. It can happen at any time. It is a personal decision to embrace the lessons this event teaches. There can be more than one defining moment.
One individual shared his personal story of how defining moments seemed to happen every 7 years, especially after a long span of thing going well.
Courage
Accepting your defining moment takes courage. It takes courage to “step out of being an ordinary man” and deciding to follow your dream. It takes courage to change your focus from where you are to where you want to be and taking the action necessary to grow and achieve.
Have a Seekers Mindset
A seekers mindset says there is an answer out there. A seeker does whatever is necessary to find that answer. A seeker will read, learn, talk with others. A seeker takes solutions that worked in other places to see if they can work in his situation. A seeker looks at things differently. It requires you to explore your own limitation so you can move past them. This means not stopping until you have the answer.
Seekers lack mental boundaries. Lack of mental boundaries means to look at things in an entirely different way and asking a different set of questions. For example, a different question would be “in what ways can I accomplish this” instead of “how can I accomplish this?” By simply changing the question or how the question is asked you change how the brain looks for an answer. There are several activities that must occur to break through mental boundaries:
-Make thinking out of the box a habit. It is not something you can turn on at the drop of a hat. It is like any other muscle; you must use it or lose it.
-Thinking out of the box cannot be limited to just business problems. It involves all aspects of your life: physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological.
-Eliminate negative expressions such as “I can’t,” and “that won’t work.” What you focus on you attract. Focusing on what will not work does not allow for different possibilities to arise.
- Boundaries are a perception and perceptions can be changed. The only boundaries we face are the ones we believe in. At one point our beliefs served us. We must ask the question do they serve us now. If they do not, we must identify and change them.
- Redefining failure. Tom Edison was great a reframing failure. He believed he never failed. When he did not get the expected results he wanted he reframed the experience and said to himself “I found another way that did not work!”
Daily Commitment
Daily commitment is a choice to believe/behave in a certain way. Success is a daily choice. It is a daily decision to create a habit of success. It is a decision of doing what others are afraid of doing.
Purposeful Action
It is hard to have purposeful action unless you have clarity of purpose. Purposeful actions mean working on what is important to you and staying true to that purpose.
Proper Expectations
We must create the proper expectations of the outcome. This is more difficult because beliefs drive expectations. It is important to focus on the beliefs you want to build so you can grow and change in your life. To change belief systems you must surround yourself with people who think differently, engage in positive self talk, be a continuous learner (learn to apply knowledge from others areas in your situation), reduce/eliminate negative people and programs that influence your thinking in a negative way, challenge your own beliefs to see if they serve your purpose.

The decision to use virtual classroom as one of the tools in your learning process triggers a series of steps needed to implement the virtual classroom. In this article, we take into account, the planning, designing, implementing and maintaining of a virtual classroom, for the Success of your learning initiative.
Planning
Fail to plan, plan to fail. Without proper planning of the implantation process, the virtual classroom project might bite the dust. Planning the implementation of the virtual classroom comprises of the following.
Listing the pedagogical goals of the classroom.
Listing the means to achieve them.
Zeroing upon the best method to achieve a goal, among various means to achieve them.
Limitations to achieve particular objects and finding ways around them.

Including images, videos, audio, animation and graphics can be done through specialized softwares for each. Also, all the web pages of the virtual classroom should ideally be hosted upon a sophisticated and fast machine, which has a high bandwidth net connection. If you are planning to use video in your content, you should set aside large hard disks to save the compressed and digitized video clips.
Interaction concerns
The success of a virtual classroom is based upon the interaction among instructor-learner, and peers. Address the issue with proper care, and you have already won half the battle. Choose the appropriate form of communication, by blending synchronous and asynchronous tools. Synchronous tools like audio and video conferencing, text based chat and whiteboards aid in conducting online lectures, while asynchronous tools can be efficiently used for the delivery of the course material. Managing a class encompasses a lot more than teaching in a classroom. The administrative work of the classroom needs to be performed for an efficient and smooth running of the class. In a virtual classroom, these tasks are made simpler with the help of tools that perform class management. In generic terms, class management includes scheduling and fixing the time table, checking learner progress, managing the personal and academic data of the students, counseling to help students, managing the assignments and grades, managing the archives of class related information and records.
Learner assessment
This can be done through quizzes, online assignments, and implementation of online tests. While quizzes provide instant feedback both for the learner and the instructor, online assignments help the instructor gauge the actual depth of the knowledge that the learner has acquired. It allows the instructor to check if the learner has a thorough understanding of the concept taught, or is simply acquainted with only the brass tacks of the subject. Online tests are specially designed quizzes that have limitations in the regard of number of attempts, time of completion, cheating and authentication of learner identity. Assessment of learners can also be based on evaluation by self, peers, and the extent of participation in classroom discussions.
Maintaining the virtual classroom

Keeping scope for software and hardware updates is necessary in the wake of leapfrogs in technology. The most important aspect of maintenance is the provision of back ups. A fixed routine should be followed for the back up of the virtual classroom, which includes answering questions like – which content to get a back up for, their regularity, the place of storage of the back up, the date of performing back ups, the media to be used for the procedure, and who would overlook the procedure. There is also no escape for content maintenance. Fresh content with a regular revival of related links keeps learners coming back to it.

They want to show you that loosing is part of winning in Internet marketing. Loosing is a route to winning. That is their aim. They want to show you how they incurred losses due to poor decisions so that you can avoid them.
Well, if you are new to Internet marketing, you have realised that Internet marketing is one tuff racket to make money in. You will find your self-spending hundreds and even thousands of dollars on the next greatest thing to skyrocket you to the top. Buying high cost hype. Do It Now, Retire By-Monday, and Make Millions over Night Internet marketing and promotion software and information.
Then once you buy all that hype you have to buy the next product to get you to the next step, and then you need another product to optimise that! And to make it better you need to get another product! Oh and here is another suggestion, buy this product to boost that product even more!
As a result, you will want to give up thinking that Internet marketing is just a money drain with no profits coming from it.
No Internet marketing is a very profitable undertaking. There is a lot of money to be made. But only if: (1) You know how to approach it and (2) You have the correct mindset at the start.

Only to find that either it has limited functionalities until you upgrade.
5- Have a clear well laid out Internet marketing plan. Follow point number one and you will be able to develop your own marketing plan.
