How can help my boyfriends self esteem issues?

I understand I can’t exactly so anything about it, but I hate seeing him like this. I would never break up with him due to this, but I’d like to try and help him with this? When he was 10-12 he was a bit overweight, now he’s 6’4, 165lbs and still thinks hes fat. Not too fat, but he thinks he needs to gain a lot of muscle and lose a lot of fat… but I like him just the way he is now and I do compliment him, but what else can I do?

If you see the attached link, your boyfriend is considered normal, so he does not need to lose any weight.

Try to tell him that.

If he does not believe you, tell him to get some counseling.

You don’t want this to mess up his life. His low self esteem can affect everything in his life.

self help book for confidence?

hey, i am looking for a good self help book for building confidence/self esteem. or if you know any good Self Help books in general that would be great. i heard about "the power of positive thinking" and was wondering what you think. so good books for building self esteem or self improvement books in general. i trust your opinion and am looking forward to your answers. thanks everyone, i appreciate your time.

Nice avatar. Over the past 4 years I have gone through many self improvement books. I’ve gone from how to speak in public, picking up girls, leadership and of course confidence/self esteem. I find that if you can improve your confidence everything else comes into place. So you’re definitely doing the right thing by investing in yourself. One book that really helped me was Unstoppable Confidence (I know cliche and cheesy title but it was a GREAT book, check the amazon reviews, you don’t have to take my word for it)

However, if you’re interested in buying that you might get more bang for you buck in the below link. I just Googled it and it seems that not only do you get the book but also the electronic course. Low self-esteem. Please help!?

I have always had low self-esteem but it’s getting to the point where I am becoming seriously depressed. I have always thought of myself as ugly and having poor body issues as well. This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t affecting my relationships. I’ve become really cold and insensitive towards the ones that I love. They tell me all the time that I am beautiful inside and out but I can never believe them. Can anyone help me? I don’t want to be this person anymore.

awww =( lauren! that’s awful. I’m sure you’re actually beautiful, you just don’t see it. I used to be a camp counselor and at the beginning of the camp (first day), we’d make these things called "magic cards" bare with me lol…they sounds pretty stupid but what they are, are little index cards that have something that others& you love about yourself. For example: one kid could have a card that said: I love how funny you are, or I love that you are so sweet and caring. Make like 15 of these cards for yourself. I don’t care how corny it sounds, DO IT! :) It really will help, everyday look at the cards and believe them. To get some ideas, try asking your family members, or friends, what do you like about me? If you ever need to talk email me :)

Help Your Inner Self And Motivate Yourself For Greatness

There are 3 basic element to change your life, you need to ask, believe and receive the new life, you also need to live your new life, just don’t imagine it but really believe and feel that your life has changed, you should set specific goals, create plans, but the most important is to always stay positive and be grateful for the things you have. Your mind is a very powerful device that can create form nothing. If you believe and really feel the new positive actions coming into your life then they will. This doesn’t over night you need to practice and block out negativity and continue to be positive.

When you create your life’s new plan remember it is a journey and you need to act like you are living this journey using your thoughts and imagination, and see the vision as if you are there in this new life. To stop the negativity you need to think of something positive quickly, think of a pet, listen to music, start thinking of the opposite of the negative thought.

When planning a personal development plan you need to alter your life style and career path. Defining a personal development plan would mean altering the career path life cycle. If you develop a personal plan and believe in it, and practice this and see yourself in this new plan it will be only a matter of time before in comes in reality. will be only a matter a time. A good plan will also act as a performance assessment tool and a blueprint of all your day-to-day operations.

When trying to motivate yourself the only way to really make this happen is to believe that you are already living in this new life. Do not let outside negative thoughts stop you from your dreams and being positive, nothing happens by coincidence, people do not have more luck or less luck, it you believe you are lucky you will be lucky if you believe you are unlucky you will be unlucky. The best way to motivate yourself is to by motivational books and videos, read them all the time watch the videos and be grateful for the things you have and what you are going to receive.

Everybody has one or another personal aspect to improve and better and hence a Personal Development coaching business could be a good idea as not only will you be making money, you will be helping so many individuals develop and improve their skills.

There are lots of self declared gurus on the internet as well as in the book stores who want you to follow such rigid routines and they are not actually interested in helping you but want you to continue following them so that you become dependent on them and thus, be able to use you as a predictable source of income. Oh sure, I liked to believe that I was in control of myself, but why then was I not able to motivate myself if I did indeed have so much control. The speaker is able to tap into your emotions.

You get so caught up in “what if” that you end up not doing anything. Furthermore, they have the nerve to complain and cry about it when they are doing nothing to try to better their situation.

Help with depression and self-harm…?

I looked up the symptoms today of depression and it turns out I have practically every single one of them. So, I’ve gathered I’m depressed…I self-harm and would like to talk to people my own age about it…I’m 13 by the way. I have tried to kill myself twice quite recently. So, any advise please? Thanks x

Hey, it’s okay, when we’re teenagers we go through mood swings, and sometimes we can be very depressed. You’re not alone here. Keep suicidal thoughts away from you, try to find things that make you happy. Play sports, watch TV, moves, play video games, talk to friends, make more friends, anything that can bring you some joy. You have a whole life ahead of you, you’re only 13 man! You have years and years ahead of you. Things can change SO much in the future, you don’t even know. You will feel differently later on, trust me. NOTHING bad lasts forever, things get better in time. That’s just how life works. :\
