well am 5ft 10 and weigh 172lbs so i don,t think its possible he's overweight because am certainly not. you need to work out how to make him feel better about himself like achieving in sports or something he's interested in and build his confidence up or maybe try and get him to talk to someone about his issues and help him work through them, another male would probably be best as he will grow confidence easier. male bonding and all that lol. well hope this helps somehow good luck chuck :)
References :
Do NOT tell him that you like him "just the way he is" because there is not way that his body is going to stay the same way it is now. Before I got married my then-fiance asked what I thought of her body. Of course I said she was incredibly sexy, beautiful, etc. Then I said that I thought that she was a little too skinny (proof that guys can actually think ahead once in awhile!). Two kids later she had put on fifteen pounds and was working hard to get back down to her original weight but was very confident that I still found her incredibly physically attractive. Tell your man that he gets you hot the way he is now, enthusiastically reward any progress he makes toward his physical goals, but let him know that you don't see him the way he sees himself.
References :
I would tell him to go see a Dr. If he thinks he is fat then he may have anorexia and he needs help. This doesn't just hit woman.
References :
You're a liar.....why are you with him if he has self-esteem issues? I'm not saying you SHOULDN"T be with him, I'm asking why. Because girls only like guys with confidence, and not having it is the ultimate and number 1 turnoff.

So plz tell us, why are you with him again?

ON TOP OF THAT, HE"S SKINNY. He's ugly AND has no confidence....now go on..answer the question...why u with him?
References :
If you see the attached link, your boyfriend is considered normal, so he does not need to lose any weight.

Try to tell him that.

If he does not believe you, tell him to get some counseling.

You don't want this to mess up his life. His low self esteem can affect everything in his life.

Peace.
References :
.

if the pounds come from fat he can try to tone it uo but he shouldn't feel bad because there are football players 200 lbs. but of course it comes from muscles but you can just let him no how much you care and let him no how you really feel about the situation
References :
He's too thin. Damn, he must be a string bean.

Tell him if he wants to gain muscle, get his skinny ass to the gym and start lifting.
