I’ve been offered a position at Primerica and it seems like a fairly well-rounded company, but I dunno, it’s seems like a gamble. I have no car, and I just moved to a new city and my network of people is fairly non-existant, I also am short on cash. In this current situation, do you think it’s a good idea to sign on with them? I also want to know how high the success rate is?
Primerica is a business opportunity. If you live in a major city such as New York City, you can succeed. Just that it will be a hassle getting from place to place. If you don’t live in a major city, hopefully whoever wants to recruit you will drive you to places. I know some people who really have no market to work with, but they have a strong work ethic. They eventually became Regional Vice Presidents. One of them told me that they immediately got their license and went out to prospect for people wherever they go. He work every single day. From clients he see, he will get referrals from them. If you join Primerica, you should think that your business is open 24/7. When your outside shopping or browsing stuff or walking down the street, you should prospect at the same time. You should ask your upline on how to prospect.
As for success rate, I really don’t know. Primerica recruits tens of thousands of people every month. This is what investors want to see because every investor know that when a company grows its sales force, the company will earn more money. One investment company, Warbus Pincus has put a bid to buy $230 million worth of shares from Primerica. Primerica is not a public company yet, but it will in the coming weeks under stock symbol "PRI".
Anyway, many who join Primerica don’t have the mindset of building a business and many will quit within their first month. When the going get tough or things get uncomfortable, many will run away from it. But there are people who will stay and have every intention to make this business work. I can tell you this, there are more successful people in Primerica than any other financial company in the world with over 2000 people earning 6 figures and over 60 people earning 7 figures. There are also over 10,000 people earning $50k to $99,999. The company has paid nearly $800 million in commissions to the sales force and have a goal to pay out billion.
If you worry about income, you can job somewhere (if you can find one) and work on your Primerica business on a part-time basis.

1. With no car how are you going to see clients?
2. Very few people succeed with them.

You have 100% chance of being hired. They charge you a monthly fee so hiring you is how they make money. You have 99% chance of losing your entire investment and wasting your time. You are selling insurance products. But the problem is that you are paying for the right to sell them. If you go to work for any other insurance company, they will be paying you to work…. not you paying them to work. And there are 2,000 other employees in your city who were "hired" before you. All competing with you.

"I’ve been offered a position at Primerica "
Anyone with a social security card, a heartbeat and $99 will be offered an opportunity with Primerica…ANYONE. You’re not "hired" and don’t feel honored to be offered the opportunity, it’s merely a way for the person that recruited you to make money off of your efforts. There’s nothing wrong with that, but just don’t feel like you were "chosen" for a job.
"it’s seems like a gamble"
The average rep in PFS makes LESS THAN $1,000/year, This is FACT. If you’re broke now, why pay to work at a company when…
"I have no car"
Then you’ll have virtually no shot at being one of the 1 in 1,000 that actually make any money. You need to be mobile, you’re expected to do kitchen table presentations and that will be hard.
"I just moved to a new city and my network of people is fairly non-existant,"
So, who do you expect to sell your products to? The most important thing you need to know about Primerica is that EVERY one of their products are over-priced, significantly. If you want to make friends in your new surroundings, the last thing you want to do is be "that guy" that bothers me about joining that multi-level company. If this is your first experience with multi-level marketing, understand that people lose friends regularly when they’re in them because they’re so persistent at trying to get their friends to join that they lose friendships regularly.
"I also am short on cash"
So, you have no money and want to PAY to work somewhere? Not a good idea. Again, less than .1% of Primericans make money. Why would you be the 1?
"do you think it’s a good idea to sign on with them?"
Even if you had money, had a car, and new people, I’d tell you to avoid them. Again, they make no money. Ask your recruiter to see their 1099 from last year. They WON’T SHOW YOU!! Why? Because they probably just joined and made nothing.
"I also want to know how high the success rate is?"
